Carven

Since the beginning, the Carven house has had a democratic and Parisian view of fashion design. Madame Carmen de Tommaso broke through the austere world of Haute Couture as an innovator in the Forties with a spontaneous and fresh style, adapted to the women’s everyday life at that time. Summer 2010, Carven opens a new chapter. From the couture years, Carven has kept its heritage. It lives on in the spirit of perfect design and choice materials. Today, the house offers ready-to-wear that is both inspired and accessible.

Deep Search

We feel great about Deep Search. The brand new label is founded by Wai Tsui and Stian Opøien. They are sneaker freaks (of course) with expansive knowledge of sneaker history and classic styles. It is a given that they love shoes, but the key to Deep Search is their thoroughness. Theyare not opting for shortcuts or second rate materials. One glance at their shoes and we knew it was quality. Deep Search is made in Italy with all the proper design solutions. Their first designs are quite classic, but with Opøien´s past as hybrid shoemaker, we are expecting the acid to drop in the future. Deep Search is from Oslo and they are building something we look forward to be a part of.

Odeur

Odeur is a Swedish label designed by Petter Hollström and Gorjan Lauseger, it is characterised by playful silhouettes and minimal prints. It is a true unisex label. The first collection from 2006 was mainly produced in jersey, since then Odeur has progressed using a mix of luxurious fabrics that support the slightly oversized and clean look. A journey within a journey. The Odeur Autumn/Winter 2011 collection takes place in the awakening from the state of nightmare. The collection - named Nocturnal Dreams - is based on the combined feeling of fear and relief. A peculiar mix of darkness and hope. The dark colour palette of the collection, including variations of black, dirt and charcoal are set in contrast to a bright white and a sober dusty colour. The details are, as usual for Odeur, in focus. Zippers, prints and buttons made of gun metallic colours complete the silhouette. The unisex collection is somewhat more solemn than earlier Odeur collections. A playful relationship to the silhouette, a focus on details and unexpected cuttings characterizes the garments.

Visvim

Visvim soars around the pinnacle of functional clothing. Few other labels can match their influence on the casual clothing scene. In many ways they are a conceptual label, because the ideas of designer Hiroki Nakamura seems to be executed regardless of cost. There is no compromise in quality. Visvim is pretty much how far you can take quality in the hybrid segment of casual and functional clothing. Before SS11 Nakamura went to Monument Valley for inspiration, this gave birth to a special Vibram sole with a Monument Valley profile underneath, only to be used on a couple of limited styles for that specific season and never again. This is just one of many examples, the list is too long to mention here. It is truly inspiring to visit their showroom and experience the Visvim esthetic, minimal but still rich in sensations due to superb craftsmanship and exquisite details.

YMC

When, back in 1995, Fraser Moss and Jimmy Collins borrowed industrial designer Raymond Loewy’s slogan, ‘You must create’, in order to name their nascent clothing company they couldn’t have realised what a clarion call those words would become. YMC, as the company swiftly came to be known, took initial inspiration from work wear, the football terraces of the early 80s, the tradition of outward bound attire and American and British military wear. From the uniforms and sportswear they borrowed precision and crisp functionality and from punk they took a dark humour and well aimed iconoclasm. YMC were and will always be defined as much by what they are against as what they are for. Since 1995 YMC has slowly and quietly evolved into a highly significant label. They are now among the prime exponents of a highly British form of modernism in clothes design. Where others are increasingly concerned with the fleeting, the transient and the contingent, YMC follow the Corbusian precept that form follows function. The results, free from fads and fripperies, are as close to timeless as clothing gets.

Yuketen

Classic made in U.S.A. footwear and luggage are exceptional as traditional artifacts of the rugged and refined American past. Since 1985, designer Yuki Matsuda has paid homage to the American crafts and traditions by treasure hunting for outstanding examples of footwear and luggage in remote locales spread out across the rolling Appalachians to the high Sierras. Each Yuketen article begins with utmost thought and research and is constructed solely by aged hands of high-skill and years of experience. Yuketen chose only the most durable and precious raw materials such as all-vegetable tanned leather and American naked leather, unique for it's heavy, thick, and soft characteristics. Yuketen products' finishing touches are made by the owner's individual insignias; the outline of their footprint, crease-marks from the bend of their ankle, imprints from their hands, color shed from their skin, mementos of their lifetime.
