Freudian Kicks is proud to present a t-shirt collaboration between Soulland and photographer Jacob Holdt. The focal point of the collaboration is Jacob Holdt's iconic book “American Pictures” from 1977. This is the first time pictures from the book will be printed on t-shirts and Jacob Holdt and Soulland designer Silas Adler have taken great care in selecting three pictures for the project.
All proceeds from the sale of the t-shirts will be donated to the AIDS Foundation.
Silas Adler about the collaboration: “For me Jacob Holdt has always been an important public debater. Through his documentation of the poor, rich, neo-nazies, and blacks he as always tried to understand rather than to judge or point fingers. There's an unmistakable love for his fellow man in the book and since its release 'American Pictures' has played an important role for generations. I remember it from my Mom's bookcase when I was really young and I remember how scared I was when I looked through it. I read the whole book a few years ago and since then it's been one of my favorite books”.
“The AIDS Foundation does a huge job for the fight against HIV/AIDS and since AIDS is particularly common in poor and socially disadvantaged communities, similar to the communities portrayed in 'American Pictures', it makes a lot of sense for us at Soulland to support the foundation's positive work”.
“My own father died of AIDS and I know the importance of informing about protection in order to avoid the virus. The AIDS Foundation is fighting an important cause and they deserve all the money we can raise through this project”
