Further delving into the sphere of womenswear design is Blanche Atelier — a line that builds on the archetypical typologies of our denim line yet adding a contemporary, refined expression to ready-to-wear styles. Don’t get us wrong: contemporary is in this case not synonymous with trend-based clothing that’ll only last you for two seasons tops — rather it is an underlying value in our design philosophy that breathes modernity into our choice of fabric, color and cut.
Blanche Atelier features materials such as pure cashmere, pure merino and leather. Sure, there are a few characteristic outliers in the line that’ll make a bit of noise and stand out from the pack, but these few items rest on the foundation of styles that take their cue from accessible, well-made design.
The intersecting point of these two womenswear lines is what forms Blanche: a contemporary approach to timeless design.

And then there is Otranto. A small medieval Italian town, clinging precariously to a cliff in the south in Puglia. The countryside is mountainous and fresh. The coast lined with beaches, the water crystal clear. It’s the classic Italian town, with cafés and ice cream bars and restaurants, you know the sort. Elegant in a lived- in, comfortable kind of way with everyday life just going on around you. People going about their businesses, being together. We like that. There’s a village just south of town, in a small bay. Take the village road and the restaurant is easy to find, right above the beach. Whitewashed with fluorescent lights and a plastic roof. Paper plates with fried squid, sea urchins, tiny sardines and anchovies caught fresh by local fishermen. A crisp white wine to wash it down with. Simple, elegant and delicious.
So what does Otranto have to do with shoes? Everything. This is where Maj-La and Jonas spent a leisurely month with families and friends, a few years ago. Walking through town they found a small studio making sandals. Everyone got a pair and wore little else for the rest of the summer. And that’s what sparked the idea of ATP ATELIER.
First of all, the shoes are made in Italy by local craftsmen, who work under circumstances and for wages that we can vouch for. It allows to establish long-term relations to the people involved, ensuring a sustainable business in the long run.
ATP use a vegetable dye for our leather instead of conventional dyes with chrome, to minimize the environmental impact.
Products of a lasting quality in design, material and craftsmanship for the customer who appreciates slow fashion.
